Quattro Collins Street

Quattro: The Goods Shed

The Goods Shed traverses Quattro’s eastern boundary from Collins Street to Flinders Street. Built in 1889 it has outstanding aesthetic and historical significance as the largest and most elaborate railway goods building in Victoria.

Its huge scale and grand style reflected Melbourne’s boom for almost a century and most of the materials for Victoria’s industries passed under its soaring gabled roofs.

With 4,000 sqm of floor space and the potential for 3,000 sqm of mezzanine accommodation, the structure and architectural integrity of this gracious heritage listed building will be retained and refurbished as a vital part of Quattro’s public realm.
